Communities First Trust Fund News 04/04/2011
The Communities First Trust Fund (CFTF) aims to support any type of activity that involves local people, through small community organisations, that benefits their community. Applications are welcome from a range of community projects including music and the arts. The activities must provide some measure of economic, environmental, social or cultural benefit for people living in a Communities First area. There are over 180 areas across Wales eligible for support from the Communities First Trust Fund. These areas have been identified in the Communities First Programme. There is no minimum amount but £5,000 is the maximum you can apply for. Funding has been committed to the Trust Fund for 2011/12. Full details will announced shortly as there are changes to the criteria for the coming year. The Communities First Trust Fund is a scheme funded by the Welsh Assembly Government aimed at small community led organisations in Communities First areas in Wales. The fund is administered by Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA). Add Comment Team News 01/04/2011
As many of you know Liz has left the team for a six month brake, Pip Welton has taken on her role, Partnership members are welcome to pop into the office to meet her before the next Partnership Meeting. Gypsy Traveller Project – BTCV Cymru 01/04/2011
BTCV Cymru will be soon be operating in Pembrokeshire , specifically engaging young gypsy travellers who do not attend secondary education through a programme of practical environmental activity. Participants will improve their health and fitness, social, employability and practical skills, including recognised qualifications. Organised environmental and conservation tasks will offer individuals opportunities to develop skills and improve the local environment. Individuals will have the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications as well as personal and transferrable skills. BTCV will be working closely with the Priory Project to develop areas of land both at Monkton Primary School and in the local vicinity. The project will focus on people in education, training or employment and will allow them opportunities to develop practical skills such as woodwork, land management, health and safety and first aid. Taster sessions will be offered along with a development scheme, enabling individuals to progress over a series of weeks. The project has been funded through WCVA Engagement Gateway and we are currently in discussions with partners for match funding. Welcome 01/04/2011
