King's Christian Fellowship

In June 2005 the Welsh Assembly Government approved funding totalling 19,122.16 for the Monkton Communities First Partnership to approve a Co-ordinator for King's Christian Fellowship's project here in Monkton.

At that time the KCF were running out of the Old Priory Inn in Monkton and during their time lots of   activities were provided within the centre including Catering and       Hospitality training, Sunshine CafĂ©, Aerobics, Ballet lessons, Luncheon Club, Music Workshops and Children's Cookery classes.

In September 2005 the project  relocated from the Old Priory Inn to Monkton Swifts Football Club and activities were delivered from there.

A new Mother and Toddler group was started up and the Luncheon Club in particular became an established vibrant social event run by volunteers from the community, eventually becoming self-sustaining when the   project closed down in March 2007.
